We are pleased to announce that on October 1, 2013,Kanawha River Terminals (KRT), was acquired bySunCoke Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: SXCP),a master limited partnership majority owned by SunCoke Energy, Inc. (NYSE: SXC). SunCoke is the largest independent producer of coke in the Americas with 50 years of experience supplying coke to the integrated steel industry.

As a result of the transaction, KRT becomes a subsidiary of SXCP. We are pleased to align our unique strengths with SXCP and the broader SunCoke organization.SunCoke’sMiddletown and Granite City cokemakingoperationshave been KRT customersfor a number of years. As one of the largest purchasers of metallurgical coal in the United States, SunCoke is also very familiar with KRT’sleadership as a met and thermal coal blending/handling terminal service provider.

We are confident this alliance marks an important step forward and a new chapter of growth for KRT, one that will benefit our respective businesses along with customers, employees, suppliers and the communities where we live and work. Day-to-day it should be business as usual. SunCoke plans to maintain KRT’s current operations and employee base, including all of our senior management.
